HTC has announced a Windows Phone version of its flagship HTC One smartphone in the USA.
The HTC One (M8) for Windows shares many of the Android-powered M8’s features, including the all-metal casing, the large sensor ‘UltraPixel’ camera and the front-facing stereo speakers.
It’s running Windows Phone 8.1 on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 2.3GHz quad-core CPU.
Verizon Wireless is the exclusive launch partner for the handset, both in its own shops and via Microsoft stores. Availability is from today.
Jason Mackenzie, president of HTC Americas, said “Consumers love the HTC One (M8) and today’s introduction extends that enthusiasm to new audiences hungry for choice in their mobile experience. HTC fills a gap in the market for unique devices that put a premium on form and function. Microsoft shares our vision, and that’s why we committed to bringing the Windows Phone platform to the HTC One (M8).”
