Texting banned during town council meetings
Here's a prime candidate for those "And finally..." stories we end our podcasts with. The US town of Billerica in Massachusetts has banned councillors from sending text messages and emails during meetings. Councillors - known as selectmen in this town - were split 3 to 2 on voting. Selectman Bob Correnti proposed the ban after apparently receiving a complaint from a resident about his colleague Marc Lombardo. Mr Lombardo responded by dismissing the complaint as "not true", calling the move "political posturing". [Source: LowellSun.com]
