LG joins the app store crowd

LG is launching a mobile phone application store tomorrow. It says the LG Application Store will start with 1,400 downloadable applications including 100 free programs. The service will initially focus on the Asian market (although it’ll be available in 15 languages) and will be expanded to cover Europe later this year. Around 2,000 applications will be online by the end of 2009. [Sources: Yahoo! Tech; LG press release]
