Yet more smartphones being used worldwide

The inevitable increase in popularity of the ‘smartphone’ is reflected in the latest report from mobile advertising company AdMob. It says smartphones received 33% of its worldwide ad traffic in February 2009, up from 26% six months ago. The Symbian operating system is still the most popular global choice with a 43% share and six of the top 10 handsets; in the UK Apple devices (iPhone and iPod Touch) account for a third of all ads seen. However, as we’ve said previously on The Fonecast, these results only reflect the clients that AdMob deals with.
