O2 creates ‘My O2’ iPhone application

Although the predominance of the iPhone sometimes proves irritating – as last month’s “Enthusiasm is my enemy” Opinion piece showed – I can certainly understand O2 UK creating their own app for the iPhone.

My O2 puts O2’s existing online account management information in a free iPhone application that lets customers see their tariff details along with information about their inclusive call and text allowances. It’s not quite real-time; O2 warns that it can be up to 12 hours out-of-date for UK billing data. The company is now looking at the possibility of offering a similar service for other devices.
