HTC results threaten to show its lowest-ever quarterly profit

Ahead of its formal audited announcement, HTC Corporation has revealed unaudited results for the first quarter of 2013.

Total quarterly revenue reached NT$42.8 billion (£933 million). Unaudited operating income was NT$43 million (£935,000) and net income after tax was NT$85 million (just over £1.8 million). That’s a 98% drop in profit from the same quarter a year ago.

The figure is described as HTC’s lowest quarterly net profit since the company started selling own-brand products in 2006.
