Google and Waze get closer by integrating features from each other

Google, which acquired Israeli navigation application Waze earlier this year, has started adding data from Waze users to its mobile Maps application.

Accidents, road works and road closures reported by Waze users in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Switzerland, the UK and the USA will now appear on the Google Maps app for Android and iOS.

Meanwhile Waze has integrated Google Maps Street View and satellite images to help users correct any map errors. In addition, Google Search has been added to list of search providers on the iOS and Android Waze apps.

Waze is a free community-based app that generates real-time traffic information from the journeys of its members.
