iPhone beats Opera to be top mobile browser

24% of mobile web traffic is using the Apple iPhone browser, according to figures from tracking company StatCounter. Opera has 22% of the global mobile browser market, followed by Nokia with 18%, Apple's iPod Touch with 14%, BlackBerry with 5.8% and Sony's PSP with 3.4%. In the UK, the iPhone leads with 31% - followed by the iPod Touch with 20% respectively, then Nokia with 13%, BlackBerry with 9.6%, Opera with 7.5% and Sony PSP with 6%. It's interesting to contrast these figures from the NetApplications report we mentioned earlier this week. They also had Apple in front but put Java second and Windows Mobile third. [Press release]
