LG joins the Linux Foundation

LG Electronics has joined the Linux Foundation this week. The foundation is a non-profit organisation that sponsors the work of Linux creator Linus Torvalds and is dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux.

Amanda McPherson, the Linux Foundation's vice president of marketing and developer programs, said "LG Electronics is joining a growing number of companies who see the unique value that Linux brings to the future of computing, where there are many different devices that are always connected. With its long history of innovation, LG’s contributions to the Linux Foundation will help accelerate the introduction of new, Linux-based devices."
