Cross-platform application store GetJar says the Facebook mobile app has been downloaded from its web site by more than 100 million people, making this the most downloaded app ever on a single app store.

The Wholesale Applications Community, a telecoms industry group that’s committed to building an open applications platform, has announced nine new members. Aepona, Camber Tech Inc (BVI) Limited, GClue, Gemalto, Infraware, KT Innotz, Sharp and Sony Ericsson have joined as associate members, while VimpelCom has joined as an operator member.

The EU says it's invested 10 million Euro in the three-year webinos project, which aims to deliver a platform for web applications across mobile, PC, home media (TV) and in-car devices.
