A fifth of all mobile users will be in the cloud by 2014
ABI Research reckons that the number of mobile subscribers worldwide using cloud computing (storage or applications provided over the internet) will grow from 42.8 million people last year - approximately 1.1% of all mobile subscribers - to over 998 million in 2014 (nearly 19%). They say the number of mobile cloud users is currently being driven by location-enabled services, including navigation and map applications, although business productivity applications are expected to become increasingly popular.
