Amazon opens its Android App Store to developers

Online retailer Amazon has launched the Amazon Appstore Developer Program, offering developers the opportunity to sell their apps on Amazon.com when the store opens in a few months.

Although developers can set a ‘list price’ from which they’d retain 70% of each sale, Amazon retains the right to discount the price of applications. If this happens, developers are guaranteed to receive at least 20% of the list price, even if Amazon gives apps away free.
