Americans are more likely to buy an iPhone than any other consumer electronics product

A new survey from Strategy Analytics has shown that consumers in the USA are more likely to buy an Apple iPhone this year than any other consumer electronics product. A group of consumers was asked about 22 electronic products, with 23.5% of people saying they were somewhat or very likely to buy an iPhone during the next 12 months.

In second place was an Android smartphone (21.6%), followed by a portable PC (17.4%) and an Apple iPad (15.3%). Next came smart TVs, digital cameras, blu-ray disc players and desktop PCs.

Apple TV, internet radios and multi-room music systems were near the bottom of the list.

According to the survey, the last six months have seen increasing interest in mobile phones and TVs, while interest in buying blu-ray disc players and portable computers has fallen.

Jia Wu, Director of Connected Home Devices at Strategy Analytics, said “Americans show no signs of falling out of love with the iPhone. But interest in Android smartphones as well as other personal computing devices remains strong, highlighting the leading role of these smart technologies in today’s technology lifestyles.”

2285 US-based consumers were contacted for the research.
