Android Market disappears, Google Play is born

Google has transformed its Android Market store into Google Play. The new service also incorporates Google Music and the Google eBook store, providing a single location to search and download apps, music, movies and books to Android phones and tablets.

As part of the launch promotion for Google Play, the company is offering discounts on a different album, book, video rental and app each day for a week.
