New figures from the Nielsen Smartphone Analytics report show that Android users appear to prefer spending time on mobile apps rather than on web sites.

After analysing data from thousands of smartphones in the USA, Nielsen has calculated that the average Android consumer spends 56 minutes per day interacting with the web and with apps on their phone. Two-thirds of that time is spent on mobile apps while the remaining third is spent on the web.

The research also shows that the ‘top ten’ most popular Android apps account for 43% of all the time spent by these consumers on mobile apps, with the top 50 accounting for 61% of all time spent.
