Apple acquires app discovery search engine Chomp

It’s reported that Apple has acquired Chomp, an online service that allows users to search for applications based on their functions. Apple is believed to have paid around $50 million, although financial details haven’t been confirmed. As well as operating via its web site, Chomp also offers iOS and Android apps.
