Apple publishes 2012 supplier responsibility report and reveals suppliers

Apple has published its 2012 Supplier Responsibility Progress Report, which details the company’s efforts to ensure and improve conditions for people who work on its behalf. It’s also named its largest suppliers worldwide, providing a list of companies that handle materials, manufacturing and assembly of Apple products.

Companies on the list, which covers 156 businesses that account for more than 97% of Apple’s manufacturing costs, include AMD, Broadcom, Hon Hai Precision Industry (better known as Foxconn), Intel, NVIDIA, Panasonic, Qualcomm, Samsung, Sony and Toshiba.

The 2012 report says Apple conducted 229 audits throughout its supply chain last year, working to correct any violations it found.
