ASA adjudicates complaints against Sony Ericsson and T-Mobile

Sony Ericsson has been censured by the Advertising Standards Authority after the TV ad for its Satio mobile phone suggested the handset was available with a Facebook application. However, the existing Facebook app was neither pre-installed nor compatible with the phone. Sony Ericsson admitted that a software problem had meant the Facebook application had initially not been available for the phone, although this problem has now been resolved.

A complaint against T-Mobile for its pay as you go advertising was partially upheld; O2 complained it wasn't clear that T-Mobile customers couldn't take advantage of a 'free texts' offer if they used any other T-Mobile pay as you go offers.
