Best Buy Europe - the joint venture between Carphone Warehouse Group plc and Best Buy - is selling its retail business in Belgium to the country’s largest telecoms company, Belgacom. The deal is worth 22 million Euro and excludes Best Buy Europe’s Belgian insurance customer base.
Best Buy Europe trades from 114 stores in Belgium as The Phone House ; this branding will be retained by Belgacom. The sale is conditional on clearance from the Belgian Competition Authority.
