Best Buy Europe, the electronics retailer created two years ago from half of the Carphone Warehouse’s European and US retail interests, has opened the virtual doors of its online shop. Customers can now purchase consumer electronics at BestBuy.co.uk – and can also read or watch guides to the latest technology. There are community forums and blogs along with independent reviews via Reevoo.
All in-store products and services will be available at the same price online, along with a number of web-only products. There's also a price promise that'll match other retailers (subject to terms and conditions, as you'd expect).
deVere Forster, Managing Director for Online at Best Buy UK, said "The launch of our e-commerce store on BestBuy.co.uk marks a key milestone for the business and helps to make buying technology simple, inspiring and tailored to each of our customers. We are very excited that customers from across the UK will now be able to experience the Best Buy brand for the first time. With Christmas on the horizon, customers will now be able to shop for the very best and latest products and services available at great prices in a captivating and entertaining environment – just like in all our stores."
Best Buy currently has six stores in the UK, with a further five planned for 2011.
