BlackBerry CEO tells business customers "we are very much alive"

John Chen, BlackBerry’s Executive Chairman and interim CEO, has written an open letter to the company’s Enterprise customers.

He begins “We are very much alive, thank you” and adds “Our ‘for sale’ sign has been taken down and we are here to stay”.

The letter goes on to say that the company is serious about multi-platform MDM (Mobile Device Management) and multi-platform EMM (Enterprise Mobility Management), with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server system able to manage iOS and Android devices alongside BlackBerry handsets.

“Our competitors want you to think that BES only manages BlackBerry devices, and that we are somehow more expensive than other MDMs. This is false.”

The letter ends “I believe in BlackBerry and I’m confident in our future in enterprise, our technology and our ability to adapt to changing market needs.”
