Could this be the must-have gift for mobile phone users this Christmas?
Wireless technology company BeeWi has launched a Mini Cooper 'radio controlled' car that works using Bluetooth via an Android or Symbian smartphone. The Mini Cooper can be controlled from the phone's touchscreen or by tilting and moving a handset that has a built-in accelerometer.
It'll work with devices running Android v2.1 and above or Symbian ^3 & Symbian S60 3rd/5th editions. The battery-powered Mini Cooper, which is almost 18cm long, will be available from later this month and will be distributed exclusively by Avenir Telecom in the UK.
Sony Ericsson revealed a similar concept – the CAR-100 - in late 2003, although this toy was only compatible with certain Sony Ericsson phones.
