Burberry CEO joins Apple to run its shops

Angela Ahrendts, the current CEO of luxury retailer Burberry, will join Apple next year in the new role of Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores. She’ll report directly to CEO Tim Cook and will have oversight of the strategic direction, expansion and operation of Apple’s retail and online stores.

Apple’s previous head of retail was former Dixons CEO John Browett, who left last October after six months in his role.

Tim Cook said “I am thrilled that Angela will be joining our team. She shares our values and our focus on innovation, and she places the same strong emphasis as we do on the customer experience. She has shown herself to be an extraordinary leader throughout her career and has a proven track record.”
