Carphone Warehouse announces 'strong quarter' in Q3 trading update

The Carphone Warehouse has announced a trading update for the third quarter of its financial year. Its anticipated earnings are higher than forecast; the share of net income from its Best Buy Europe partnership to March 2010 is now expected to be £40 million to £45 million (upwards of £5m more than previous calculations).

Best Buy Europe Q3 like-for-like revenue is up 5.5%, UK like-for-like revenue is up 6.3% and Best Buy Europe connections are up 1.4% to 3.75 million.

Its TalkTalk Group revenues – now from a based of 4.15 million broadband customers - were up 29% to £446 million.

Charles Dunstone, Chief Executive Officer, said "This has been another strong quarter, with good performances from TalkTalk Group, Best Buy Europe and Virgin Mobile France. We are consequently again increasing our guidance for the full year."
