Criminals targeting live music gigs to steal mobile phones

The UK's National Mobile Phone Crime Unit says there's a growing problem with mobile phones being stolen at gigs and festivals. Music lovers often record video clips or take photos with their phone but then put it in a bag or pocket that's easy to reach. The problem is compounded because many victims believe they've lost their phone through carelessness, not theft.

Nine people have been arrested by the NMPCU at events in the last two weeks, with other arrests also taking place across the UK. [Sources: thisislondon.co.uk; reuters.com]
