Next year looks likely to see GPS-equipped mobile phones becoming more affordable. Nokia has just announced its Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition, which is expected to go on sale in Q2 2010 at 110 Euro SIM-free (around £99 excl. VAT). The one-piece 'candybar' format Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition – which uses Nokia's Series 40 operating system - has the Nokia Maps application pre-loaded. Basic mapping and route planning is free, with turn-by-turn voice-guided navigation available as a chargeable extra. The handset also has a 2 megapixel camera and GPRS/EDGE connectivity (but no 3G), along with a 2.2-inch screen.
