Customers are interested in mobile VoIP, says mobile VoIP company

A survey commissioned by Kineto Wireless has shown that about a fifth of UK mobile consumers would be interested in a voice-over-IP service run by their mobile network. 18% of adults with a mobile phone said they’d be interested in a mobile VoIP service, while 11% who’ve downloaded a VoIP application onto their mobile phone use it every day. Of those 11%, the vast majority – 84% - are using Skype.

Kineto Wireless has also just announced a mobile VoIP application that’s been developed for mobile operators, enabling them to offer a VoIP service via their existing voice infrastructure. [Press releases: survey; application]
