This week’s edition of The Fonecast included an interview with Suneet S Tuli, CEO of DataWind. DataWind is the Canadian company that produces the PocketSurfer2 internet device. There wasn’t room for the entire interview in our regular show so we’ve produced a separate podcast containing the full conversation.
In it, Suneet talks about convergence, simple data prices, roaming charges, usage, consumer acceptance and the forthcoming PocketSurfer3 – which is scheduled to appear before the end of summer 2009.
We asked him why consumers would want to carry an additional device for web browsing on the move.
“The mobile web on mobile phones has failed – it’s like watching a high-definition movie through a keyhole. No matter what benefits that keyhole provides, the purpose of the keyhole is always going to remain different.”
