EU Telecoms Commissioner Viviane Reding says she wants all Europeans to be able to move their mobile or fixed-line phone number to another operator within a single day. Currently, only Ireland and in Malta offer this response, with EU citizens waiting on average 8.5 days to ‘port’ their mobile number.
