Expedia acquires mobile travel app creator Mobiata

Mobiata, a two-year-old company that makes mobile travel applications, has been acquired by online travel company Expedia.

Michigan-based Mobiata is best known for its FlightTrack application for iPhone and Android devices; this allows users to see ‘live’ status information on flight departures and arrivals. Financial details of the acquisition were not released.
