Social network Facebook has confirmed that one billion people now regularly use the service. It actually passed the milestone figure of 1 billion active monthly users on 14th September.
600 million users currently access Facebook via mobile devices.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and co-founder of Facebook, said “Helping a billion people connect is amazing, humbling and by far the thing I am most proud of in my life. I am committed to working every day to make Facebook better for you, and hopefully together one day we will be able to connect the rest of the world too.”
Facebook, which was founded in 2004, reached 500 million monthly users in July 2010.
