Femtocell manufacturer starts selling direct to consumers

Scottish mobile infrastructure company HSL (Hay Systems Limited) has started selling its HSL 2.75G Femtocell directly to end users. Like the Vodafone Access Gateway, it’s designed to improve indoor coverage by connecting to the mobile network via broadband.

HSL points out that its femtocell won’t work with individual mobile operators unless HSL has an agreement with those operators, which is why it’s set up a website at www.femtonow.com for consumers to register their interest. The company will contact consumers when their network is able to support the device. [Press release]
