Free WiFi coming to Land Securities shopping centres across the UK

Commercial property management company Land Securities says it plans to offer free WiFi in every one of its 22 shopping centres and 2 outlet centres across the UK through a deal with The Cloud. It follows the rollout of WiFi at Land Securities’ One New Change and Cabot Circus shopping centres last year.

Free WiFi will now be available in 12.5 million square feet of retail space, including White Rose in Leeds and Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth.

Richard Akers of Land Securities said “The retailers in our shopping centres know the value of having WiFi in their venues - they recognise that people expect to be able to browse the web wherever they are and get a first-class connectivity experience. This roll-out is part of our vision for ensuring that all our shopping centres embrace the digital expectations of visitors. The success of The Cloud’s WiFi roll-out in the first two sites convinced us of the need to rapidly expand the service to the rest of our estate.”
