Google has acquired payments technology company TxVia to help it develop its Google Wallet mobile payment service.
The TxVia payments platform connects to major payment networks and has been used for the creation of more than 100 million accounts.
In a message on the company website, TxVia CEO Anil Aggarwal said “Success in payments requires not only innovative technology and operational excellence but also broad collaboration. As part of Google, we look forward to expanding our partnerships with both the payments industry and a wide variety of other organizations that are pioneering a new era of commerce.”
