Google buys UK mobile search company

Google has bought a UK company called Plink, which develops mobile visual search services. Plink has been offering an Android application called PlinkArt that identifies paintings if you take a photo of them with your phone. Future development work will be focussed on Google Goggles, which does the same kind of thing but on a much wider scale.
