Google Currents news and entertainment app launches worldwide

Google Currents, the online content app for Android and iOS devices that launched in the USA last December, has now been made available worldwide. Nearly 400 ‘publisher’ editions and over 14,000 self-produced publications are now available on Currents.

The Guardian in the UK, LaStampa in Italy, Financial Times Deutschland in Germany, ABC News in Australia, Neue Zürcher Zeitung in Switzerland and Hindustan Times in India are among the first non-US publishers to launch editions with local content. In addition, readers can add blogs to the Currents reader.

As well as making the app available worldwide, Google has also integrated Google Translate to help users to read articles in a choice of 38 languages.
