Google gPhone coming… but will it be VoIP-only?

Our podcast on 28th October mentioned the possibility of a Google 'gPhone'; a possibility that the podcast team wasn't entirely convinced by, although James said these rumours were increasingly credible. He pointed out that Apple produced its own mobile hardware and software, Nokia (with Symbian) had put itself in a similar position.. and this could easily inspire Google to follow suit.

Well, it looks as though James was right. It's now being widely reported that Google is designing its own mobile phone – possibly a mVoIP device rather than a conventional smartphone – that'll run the Android OS and will possibly be made by LG. [Source: TechCrunch.com]
