Google plans instant search for mobiles later this year

The Google Instant 'search-as-you-type' service that was launched yesterday is coming to mobile phones in the autumn. That's what the company announced during its presentation in San Francisco.

Predictive search is now available in the USA, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Russia and Spain on Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer browsers as long as the user has signed in to their Google.com account. The service was also demonstrated on an Android-powered smartphone during the launch event.
