Hacking your iPhone causes problems, says Apple

Apple has issued a support bulletin that warns users against hacking or ‘jailbreaking’ the iPhone operating system. No surprises, really. It warns that unauthorised modifications can cause instability, disruption of services and compromised security – although (naturally) it doesn’t mention any benefits.

The bulletin adds “It is also important to note that unauthorized modification of the iPhone OS is a violation of the iPhone end-user license agreement and because of this, Apple may deny service for an iPhone or iPod touch that has installed any unauthorized software.” [support.apple.com]
