HP’s board of directors has appointed five new members, although four of the current board will be leaving in March, resulting in a total of 13 board members.
The new directors are:
Shumeet Banerji, CEO of management consulting firm Booz & Company,
Gary Reiner, former chief information officer of General Electric and currently special advisor to private equity firm General Atlantic,
Patricia Russo, former CEO of Alcatel-Lucent,
Dominique Senequier, CEO of AXA Private Equity, and
Meg Whitman, former president and CEO of eBay Inc.
Joel Hyatt, John Joyce, Robert Ryan and Lucille Salhany are not standing for re-election at the company’s Annual Meeting of Stockholders in March.
Raymond J Lane, non-executive chairman of the board of directors at HP, said “The addition of these new directors will further diversify the outstanding talents and wide-ranging experience that our directors already bring to HP. Each is a widely respected and deeply experienced business leader, and together they will provide our board and management team with new insight and perspectives relating to HP’s business and the rapidly changing technology industry.”
HP acquired Palm and its webOS mobile operating system last year. Mark Hurd, who held the roles of Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President, resigned from the company in August.
