HP plans its own virtual magazine for TouchPad tablet users

HP says it’ll be publishing a monthly magazine-like application that’ll be sent ‘over the air’ to all HP TouchPad customers. It’s called HP webOS Pivot and promises to be “an entertaining and informative editorial resource for discovering webOS 3.0 applications”. Pivot will include original editorial, guest writers, features and reviews. A conventional application store - the HP webOS App Catalog - will also be available.

Richard Kerris, vice president of webOS Worldwide Developer Relations at HP, said “Pivot brings app discovery to a new level for customers and developers alike. We want our partners to experience webOS as the growing platform of opportunity, and we’re investing in new ways to help market their applications on our platform.”

The HP TouchPad launches in the UK and Ireland on 2nd July.
