HTC announces fourth quarter and annual results for 2011

HTC Corporation has published financial results for the fourth quarter of 2011 and for the full year. Total quarterly revenue was NT$101.42 billion (£2.16 billion), while net profit was down to NT$10.94 billion. However, revenue for the full year was up 67% to NT$465.79 billion and net profit was up 57% to NT$61.98 billion.

Peter Chou, CEO of HTC, said “In 2011 we saw growth in the global strength of our brand, as well as earnings and revenue growth. While short term performance may not meet the results as expected, we have gained further experience and advancement in the areas of brand management and product innovation. These fundamental strengths and the groundwork we have laid will take us into 2012 with a renewed focus and determination.”

This year HTC says it’ll focus on growing the company’s brand value, continuing to create competitive advantages through innovation, enhancing the efficiency of marketing campaigns and further driving down operating costs.
