HTC quarterly results show an improvement from earlier this year

HTC Corporation has announced unaudited results for the second quarter of 2013.

Total revenue for Q2 2013 was NT$70.7 billion (£1.6 billion), while operating income was NT$1.05 billion (£23.4 million), and net income after tax was NT$1.25 billion (£27.8 million).

That’s an improvement on the previous quarter, when profits fell by 98% to a record low, but is still a drop from the same quarter last year.

Peter Chou, HTC’s CEO, has previously described Q1 as “a pivotal quarter for HTC”.
