As well as announcing the HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z yesterday, the Taiwan-based mobile manufacturer also revealed a set of online services called HTCSense.com. The name is shared with the 'HTC Sense' smartphone user interface.
HTCSense.com enables customers to manage their mobile phone from an internet-connect computer or even from another HTC handset. A missing phone can be made to ring loudly, even if the ringer volume is set to silent, and can be located on a map by using GPS. Lost or stolen devices can be locked remotely, can have calls and texts diverted to another phone and can even be erased 'over the air'.
Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation, said "We’re excited to be taking the HTC Sense experience beyond the phone to a whole new level with a series of connected HTC services we call HTCSense.com. Our customers will value the holistic approach we’re taking to enhance their mobile experience."
The service is expected to become available when the the new HTC devices go on sale.
