Identity analytics business Finsphere receives investment from Vodafone

Finsphere Corporation, a US-based business that uses mobile phones to confirm an individual’s identity, has received $11.3 million (£7.3 million) from a group of investors. The investment round was led by Vodafone Ventures, the venture capital arm of Vodafone Group. Tobin Ireland, Group Director of Commercial Development at Vodafone, will join the Finsphere board of directors.

Mike Buhrmann, CEO of Finsphere, said “Through strategic relationships with mobile network operators and working with key industry partners, Finsphere enables wireless carriers to help protect their customers. Finsphere provides a sophisticated analytics platform for the development of non-intrusive identity services to enhance privacy and protect information across all industry segments.”
