John Caudwell prepares to launch mobile payment service

The Independent on Sunday recently interviewed John Caudwell, who sold his Phones 4u business four years ago for £1.46 billion.

It reports that he's been working on five businesses, including an imminent return to the mobile phone industry. Apparently Mr Caudwell has invested £1 million in "a mobile phone application that facilitates instantaneous financial transactions with a simple code" and is expected to make a further investment if the current ‘soft launch’ is successful.
