The Fonecast was at Qualcomm's IQ2010 event in London yesterday, which took place in The Science Museum. Dr Paul Jacobs, Qualcomm's chairman and CEO, started the day with a keynote speech in which he described the wireless industry - with over 5 billion subscribers worldwide - as "humanity's biggest platform". He went on to describe Qualcomm's achievements from the past 25 years and talked about its current and future activities, including its willingness to 'kick start' markets by producing devices and buying spectrum.
Reporter Mark Bridge made a recording of the keynote speech as an alternative to writing notes – and he's now put it online. The quality's not as good as our regular podcasts but, if you're interested in the Qualcomm perspective on mobile R&D and manufacturing, it's certainly worth listening to.
