UK mobile phone manufacturer Vertu, which was owned by Nokia until last year, has announced its first Android handset. The company, established as a luxury phone maker 15 years ago, had previously used Nokia’s Symbian platform.

Its new Vertu Ti handset is available for £6,700 and is hand-made from titanium, ceramic and leather with a sapphire crystal screen. There’s a 3.7-inch display, an 8-megapixel camera and quad-band connectivity with DC-HSPA+.

Each phone also offers a Concierge service for 24-hour assistance via voice, email or online chat.
