The beta version of Microsoft My Phone, which lets Windows Mobile users backup and synchronise their data, is now open to members of the public. Users can copy their texts, contacts, photos and calendar in case they lose or upgrade their handset - and future versions will also offer a ‘remote wipe’ and GPS tracking for lost phones. The basic service is free (except for online data costs), although additional options may be chargeable in the future. [Sources: InformationWeek.com; Computerworld.com]
