Both Apple and Google have enjoyed a very busy Christmas when it comes to mobile devices.
Andy Rubin, Google’s Senior Vice President of Mobile, announced that 3.7 million Android devices were activated worldwide on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. He’d confirmed a daily activation rate of 700,000 Android devices earlier in December.
Meanwhile, mobile application analytics and advertising platform Flurry says a total of 6.8 million Android and Apple devices were activated on Christmas Day alone - up from 2.8 million on 25th December last year. That compares with an average daily rate of 1.5 million devices throughout early December 2011.
